The French river „Loup“ rises near the town of Andon and flows into the Mediterranean after 49 kilometers. The „Saut du Loup“ waterfall is a popular attraction along the course of this river near Grasse.

The waterfall can be visited at any time since there are no opening times and the entrance is secured by an electric turnstile. This opens with a deposit of € 1 per person and a few steps then lead to a small viewing platform, on which it is also possible to go down a few steps to take a closer look at the waterfall. In addition to the main attraction, there are a few other smaller waterfalls that fall over the overgrown rocks into the Loup.

How to get there?
The Saut du Loup can be easily reached by car. There are few parking spaces directly in front of the entrance, but we were not entirely sure whether they were actually intended for the visitors of the waterfall.

Conclusion: A huge disappointment! In our opinion, the waterfall is very small and the landscape around it is not really worth seeing compared to other destinations we visited in Southern France. Although the entry fee is very low, it is not worth it. On the Internet, this tour is often advertised as a hike, but we would not call a walk of about 40 steps and a few meters a hike.
